Create resilient communities

Manifeste
We believe in a society of free and responsible individuals associating voluntarily to create resilient and prosperous communities, connected to networks of exchange and solidarity. Circles of family, friendship, affinity, and mutual aid are the primary spaces of engagement. Step by step, these bonds of sharing and collaboration weave our communities. Arkipel is our contribution to the emergence of this vision.
Arkipel facilitates the organization and connection of autonomous local action groups that exchange goods and services, pool resources, and share their knowledge. We are at the service of group organizers and leaders of innovative projects. These gatherers strengthen the resilience and prosperity of communities. Our mission is to support them.
Whether you are distributing surplus food, placing a bulk order with a local supplier, pooling a trip or a vehicle, selling or giving away used items, sharing tools or books with your neighbours, or simply sharing your ideas and passions with your loved ones, you are having an impact, you are making a difference, your action challenges the status quo. Every cooperative action at the local level strengthens the fabric of the community.
With Arkipel, create, exchange, and explore an infinite network of cooperations.

Our story
Arkipel was born in Montreal, Quebec, from a simple yet striking observation: food producers, such as industrial bakeries, discard immense quantities of bread and other products that are still perfectly fit for consumption every day, simply because they cannot get them in time to the organizations that desperately need them. This glaring waste, while fridges remain empty, was the starting point of our reflection.
By digging deeper, we realized that this problem was not limited to food. Everywhere, resources — whether they are products, services, skills, spaces, or objects — remain unused or poorly distributed, for lack of an efficient system to connect them to those who need them. A bakery with unsold items, a food bank with empty shelves, a business with unused logistical capacities: each acts in its own corner, without visibility on the needs and surpluses of others. Existing solutions often impose an impossible choice: either isolation, or dependence on centralized platforms that do not always meet the interests of communities.
Arkipel is therefore a native federation infrastructure, designed to facilitate concrete and rapid exchanges between communities, organizations, and individuals. It allows to:
Discover in real time what others have or are looking for.
Coordinate donations, sales, rentals, or exchanges in a fluid and transparent manner.
Build relationships of trust at one's own pace, with cryptographic verification.
Collaborate without centralizing data or losing control.
Whether it is for a bakery that wants to donate its unsold items, a food bank that seeks to fill its reserves, or a mutual aid network that organizes resources, Arkipel provides the infrastructure needed for communities to see their abundance… and share it before it is too late. Our architecture is built upon a trust network: each participant retains sovereignty over their data while establishing verified relationships with their peers. No vendor lock-in. No surveillance. No single point of failure.
